It is impossible to cover everything on The Life of Pablo, from the deeply intriguing and debatable album name to each individual song. The Life of Pablo can be fittingly compared to Graduation, an album which unlike his other works, had no meticulous sequencing or running theme. The track “Famous” shows him bragging about his successes, but because of his achievements, he claims he has earned the right to do so. He’s rapped over Can, Aphex Twin, and King Crimson and in turn given younger listeners an opportunity to explore something they may never have found on their own. The Life of Pablo is Kanye West’s seventh studio album and like the usual escapades of rap music’s love-to-hate or hate-to-love 21 st Century schizoid man, it was dripping with hype, controversy, anticipation and intrigue. West is infamous for his ego, and that also factors into The Life of Pablo. On the deeply introspective “Real friends”, West reflects on how he has certain people in his life just because he’s famous, and he wonders how many “real friends” he has. On the track “Father stretch my hands part 2” he talks about his car crash, his parents’ divorce, his mother’s passing, and other personal stories.
